Cat bite within how long the injection is effective

A cat bite may cause rabies and it is best to get a rabies vaccination within 24 hours. Patients are usually effective if the rabies vaccine is given before the rabies attack, i.e., within 1 week. Patients who have been bitten by a cat need a rabies vaccination to prevent rabies from occurring. Usually, it takes about 1 week after the rabies vaccination to produce antibodies. The incubation period for rabies varies in length, with most being within 1-3 months, and some having a shorter incubation period of about 7-14 days. Therefore, for most patients, rabies can be prevented as long as the rabies vaccine is administered before the incubation period to produce antibodies. However, since rabies is a disease with a 100% lethality rate, patients are advised to go to the hospital for rabies vaccination promptly after emergency treatment after being bitten by a cat, preferably within 24 hours of the first injection. If there is a delay for other reasons, it is also important to go for rabies vaccination before the onset of symptoms.
