Gastric disease is an extremely common disease, because it often suffers from improper diet, emotional disorders and other adverse stimuli, once the disease is difficult to heal, especially chronic atrophic gastritis, because of the high rate of malignant change and extremely difficult to treat the medical profession is very headache. Western medicine in gastric disease, Chinese medicine is mainly blamed on the dysfunction of the spleen and stomach. Many years ago, as a result of studying the theory of Chinese medicine, the author proposed that the theory of spleen and stomach pathology is constructed by the theory of earth qi in the theory of the five elements of traditional Chinese philosophy, which is based on the doctrine of yin and yang of the four seasons of heaven and earth, in which the spleen and stomach resemble the five elements of earth qi, which resembles the properties of the qi of the root of yin and yang of heaven and earth, and its function is based on the basic characteristic of resembling the two qi of heaven and earth, rising and falling, and biochemistry of the essence of the latter. Based on this new theoretical creation, the author has proposed four basic principles in the treatment of stomach diseases in Chinese medicine: combining cold and heat, lifting and lowering, tonifying and dipping, and treating Qi and blood together. Over the years, I have treated hundreds of cases of various types of gastric diseases with this theory as the clinical guidance, without fail, and with very satisfactory results. In general, for non-atrophic gastric disease and non-pre-cancerous gastric disease, the course of treatment is mostly within three or four months for younger patients and about one year for older patients. For atrophic gastritis and other refractory gastric diseases, the course of treatment is usually more than one year, but most of them can be basically cured or improved.
