What does thickening of the fallopian tubes mean?

Thickening of the fallopian tube may be caused by acute salpingitis, hydrops and pus in the fallopian tube, ectopic pregnancy and other reasons.
1. Acute tubalitis: when the endometrium is inflamed, the inflammation spreads upward, which will first cause tubalitis, tubal mucosal swelling, interstitial edema, congestion, triggering the thickening of the fallopian tube.
2. Hydrops and pus accumulation in the fallopian tube: due to chronic inflammation, the fallopian tube is adhered and blocked, so that the fluid is retained in the lumen of the fallopian tube, resulting in abnormal thickening of the fallopian tube.
3. Ectopic pregnancy: the gestational sac is not located in the uterus, but in the fallopian tube, resulting in thickening of the fallopian tube. In this case, it is necessary to combine with the patient’s medical history, as well as blood human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) growth and other comprehensive judgment.
There may be other reasons for the thickening of the fallopian tubes, so it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
