How long do you have to stay in the hospital for duodenal bulb ulcers?

After confirming the diagnosis of duodenal bulb ulcer, according to the patient’s condition and whether it is accompanied by bleeding and other complications, to determine whether hospitalization is required, usually for 5 days ~ 2 weeks.
1. Conservative treatment (without hospitalization): the patient’s condition is mild, gastroscopy observation is only a small area of ulcer, preferred drug treatment, the course of treatment in 4~6 weeks. Such as inhibition of gastric acid: omeprazole, ranitidine, etc.; gastric mucosal protective agents, such as bismuth potassium citrate; if there is a history of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use, it is necessary to discontinue, such as aspirin.
Combined with Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection, need to eradicate Hp, follow the doctor’s instructions to use drugs, such as omeprazole, amoxicillin, bismuth pectin, furazolidone and so on.
2. Surgery (hospitalization): When bleeding occurs, emergency surgery is needed, and the general hospitalization length is 5~14 days, and the patient can be discharged when the bleeding stops; if the bleeding ulcer is accompanied by perforation, the hospitalization length will be relatively longer, and it needs to be determined according to the patient’s condition after the surgery.
