There is no clear evidence that tea can treat GERD. The main treatments for GERD are medication, surgery, and improvement of daily life. 1. Medications (1) Acid-suppressing drugs: Inhibiting gastric acid is the basic therapeutic drug. They include proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole and histamine Hâ‚‚ receptor antagonists such as cimetidine. Proton pump inhibitors are also used as the first choice for maintenance therapy. (2) Gastrointestinal stimulants, such as domperidone and mosapride, can promote gastric emptying and thus reduce gastroduodenal reflux. 2. Surgery: Surgery can be considered for patients who do not get good results from acid-suppressing drugs. The most commonly used anti-reflux surgical treatment is laparoscopic fundoplication. 3. Improvement of daily life: patients should quit smoking and drinking; attention should be paid to reducing factors causing increased intra-abdominal pressure, such as obesity, constipation, etc.; avoiding the use of food that reduces the pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter, such as chocolate, coffee, strong tea and so on. Patients should choose the correct treatment under the guidance of professional doctors.
