The results of a head MRI can be obtained in about half an hour to an hour after it is done. The time for a head MRI is about twenty minutes. Depending on the patient’s condition, T1 images, T2 images, pressurized water images, functional brain imaging and magnetic susceptibility imaging can be done if necessary. For the brain MRI report, the radiologist needs to write it after reading the film, and if there are more patients, the patient’s MRI report will be slower. If a patient has an MRI done in the afternoon near the end of the shift, the report may not be available until the next day. This is because MRI is only done during the day shift and rarely on the night shift. Head MRI can detect intracranial infarcts, occlusions, and hemorrhages, which are generally more obvious than CT and can also rule out cranial artifacts.
