A normal person’s blood glucose of 7.2mmol/L 3 hours after a meal may be abnormal. Normally the blood glucose level will return to the fasting blood glucose level, i.e. 3.9~6.1mmol/L, 3 hours after meal, so the blood glucose of 7.2mmol/L after meal may be abnormal. However, 3 hours after meal blood glucose is not used as a diagnostic criterion for diabetes, and is mostly recognized as random blood glucose. It is recommended that intravenous fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose measurements be performed under the supervision of a physician to clarify whether there is an elevation of blood glucose. Under normal circumstances, the normal range of blood glucose corresponding to fasting is 3.9~6.1mmol/L, and the value of blood glucose 2 hours after meal should be less than 7.8mmol/L. Once you find elevated blood glucose level, it is recommended that you go to the endocrinology department of the regular hospital in time to avoid delaying your condition.
