A medical abortion can be done within 49 days of pregnancy, if the patient has a relatively regular menstrual cycle of about 30 days. If the patient is not ovulating after this pregnancy, the patient can have an ultrasound between 40 and 49 days of menopause to see the pregnant sac in the uterine cavity, which is usually larger than 1.0 cm. After the ultrasound is confirmed, the blood can be checked and the contraindication to medical abortion can be excluded. If the patient usually has a long menstrual cycle, such as menstruation once every 2 or 3 months, or if the patient’s current pregnancy occurs after ovulation, the patient cannot be judged by the time of menopause. If the gestational sac is between 1.0-2.0 cm and there are no contraindications to abortion, and if the embryo has stopped developing, the patient can choose abortion by medication.
