What is lumbar muscle strain?

Lumbar muscle strain, also known as “functional lumbago” or “lumbar back fasciitis”, mainly refers to chronic injury to the lumbosacral muscles, fascia and other soft tissues. It is customary to call lumbar soft tissue strain collectively as “lumbar muscle strain”, which accounts for the largest proportion of chronic low back pain. The common causes of lumbar muscle strain are the following: 1. acute lumbar sprain after the loss of treatment, mistreatment, repeated multiple injuries, or incomplete treatment delayed; 2. long-term maintenance of a non-physiological unbalanced position in labor, such as long-term bending, sitting, or standing work, excessive weight bearing or fatigue of the lumbar back, resulting in lumbar back muscle fascia strain; 3. long-term habitual poor posture, or forced bending weight-bearing position Work, such as not paying attention to reasonable operation, no appropriate lumbar spine functional exercise and protection, the formation of potential, cumulative injury over time. As a result of lumbar muscle dysfunction, pain and protective lumbar muscle spasm are formed, and a series of pathological changes occur. In addition, congenital deformity of lumbosacral spine makes the activity of both sides of lumbosacral region inconsistent, which is more likely to lead to fatigue of soft tissues of lumbar dice and cause lumbago. Patients have a history of long-term lumbar pain with recurrent attacks. The pain is uncomfortable on one or both sides of the lumbosacral region, sometimes light and sometimes heavy, and lingering. The soreness increases after exertion and decreases after rest, and is related to weather changes. Some patients have long-term lumbar back pain, which affects sleep in serious cases, or late night lumbar pain. The pain in the lumbar region is obviously reduced when hot compresses or light pressure are applied, and the lumbar region obviously likes warmth and massage techniques such as pressing and light kneading. In acute attacks of lumbar muscle strain, various symptoms are significantly aggravated and lumbar activities are restricted.
