Drinking coffee in moderation every day can help you live longer

A new study published in the American “Circulation” monthly magazine shows that drinking 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day may be able to benefit life. Scientists have found that moderate coffee consumption can reduce people’s risk of premature death from heart disease, Parkinson’s and other neurological disorders and type 2 diabetes, and drinking coffee also appears to reduce the risk of suicide. Of course, it is believed that this characteristic is not related to the amount of caffeine contained, but to other plant compounds contained in coffee. Ding Ming, a scientist at the Harvard Tzeng-Hsieh School of Public Health, who led the study, said, “Coffee contains biologically active substances that reduce the body’s insulin resistance and inflammatory response. Of course, further research is needed for such a conclusion.” The findings bring together three studies, with a total of 208,501 male and female subjects participating in these experiments. The researchers evaluated the effects of coffee drinking using an analysis of dietary questionnaires every four years over a 30-year period. The results found that moderate coffee consumption significantly reduced the risk of death from all causes compared to people who drank less coffee or no coffee at all. This was of course the result of fully taking into account other factors such as smoking, body mass index, physical activity level, alcohol consumption and daily dietary habits. This study provides further evidence that moderate coffee consumption may be beneficial to health and may reduce the risk of premature death from a variety of diseases. But Emilie Reeve, chief nurse at the British Heart Foundation, said, “If you want to keep up with the health benefits of coffee, you need to be careful. If you want to keep your heart healthy, it’s really important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, not how much coffee you drink,” said Reeve. Tip: Drinking coffee still depends on the person, not everyone is suitable to drink. Patients with heart disease, arrhythmia, asthma, anxiety, hyperthyroidism, insomnia, etc. are not suitable for heavy consumption.
