How to treat tumors on the lungs

Surgery is recommended to remove the tumor from the lung. After surgical removal, the tumor will be sent for pathological examination and a clear diagnosis will be made based on the examination results. If the tumor is benign, the tumor can be cured by removing the mass. If the tumor is less than 5 cm in diameter, it can be treated by thoracoscopic lobectomy. If the tumor is larger than 5cm, traditional open-heart surgery is recommended for higher safety and more complete resection. If it is malignant, it may need to be combined with radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Radiation therapy has the best effect on small cell lung cancer, and chemotherapy generally cannot cure non-small cell lung cancer, but can only prolong the patient’s survival time and improve the quality of life.
