Coughing in pregnant women is often caused by upper respiratory tract infections and allergies. If it is caused by upper respiratory tract infections, it can be treated by means of antipathogen therapy and nebulization, and if it is caused by an allergic reaction it should be kept away from allergens and treated with medication. 1. Upper respiratory tract infection (1) Antipathogen treatment: If the cough is caused by bacterial infection, it can be targeted according to different pathogens, such as the use of antibiotics penicillin, azithromycin and so on. (2) Do nebulization: pregnant women who have a persistent cough that does not ease, can go to the respiratory department for nebulization treatment, which helps to expel phlegm from the respiratory tract and can greatly relieve discomfort. 2. Allergic reaction (1) Stay away from allergens: If the cough is caused by allergies, you should stay away from the allergenic environment and avoid touching allergens such as dust mites and pollen. (2) Medication: After the third month of pregnancy, anti-allergy drugs such as loratadine can be used as prescribed by the doctor. If the pregnant woman’s cough cannot be relieved, she should consult a specialist in time so as not to delay the treatment and aggravate the condition.
