Shangyingxiang is an extra meridian point, with no meridian to which it can be attributed. Its exact location is on the face, at the junction of the nasal cartilage and the turbinate, near the upper end of the nasolabial groove.
When taking this point, you usually need to lie on your back or sit down, push up the nasolabial groove along the side of the nose, and feel a depression at the end of the upper end, which is this point.
Shangyingxiang point can be used to treat nasal diseases, such as nasal abyss (mainly manifested as filthy nasal mucus, the amount of which cannot be wiped away), nasal congestion, etc.; it can also be used to treat other localized diseases, such as tearing in the wind, redness and swelling of the eyes, and headache.
