Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan and Liu Wei Di Huang Wan can both treat kidney yin deficiency, but the former has the effect of clearing the fire, the two drugs are not recommended to take together.
Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan is based on Liu Wei Di Huang Wan with the addition of Zhi Mu and Huang Bai, in addition to nourishing kidney yin, but also increased the effect of lowering the fire. It can be used to treat conditions such as tidal fever (a burst of heat, feeling that the heat comes from inside the bones to the outside), night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep and stopping after waking up), heartburn, and spermatorrhea, etc. The Six-flavored Di Huang Wan is made of the same ingredients as the Six-flavored Di Huang Wan.
On the other hand, Liu Wei Di Huang Wan is composed of Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Poria, Zedoariae, Mudan Pi and Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, which has the effect of nourishing Yin and tonifying the kidney, and can treat conditions such as soreness and weakness of the waist and knees caused by Kidney-Yin Deficiency Evidence, ringing in the ears, dizziness and vertigo, night sweating, spermatorrhea, and heart and feet fever.
The contraindications and adverse reactions of the above drugs are not clear. There are many similarities between the two drugs in terms of their therapeutic efficacy, and they should be used in a discriminatory manner and are not recommended to be used together.
