Laryngoscopy can directly observe the condition of the larynx and diagnose the related diseases. The diseases that can be detected through laryngoscopy include laryngitis, vocal polyp, foreign body and laryngeal cancer.
1. Laryngitis: through laryngoscopy, it can be found that the mucous membrane of the larynx is edematous and oozing, and some of them are accompanied by lymphoid follicle hyperplasia, which suggests that inflammation occurs.
2. Vocal polyps: prolonged chronic inflammatory stimulation can lead to the production of vocal polyps, through laryngoscopy can be found in the local nodular protrusion.
3. Foreign body: foreign body in the throat caused by swallowing or choking, through laryngoscopy, the location of the specific foreign body and the embedded situation can be found.
4. Laryngeal cancer: malignant tumor in the pharynx and larynx, through laryngoscopy, the size of the tumor, the growth area and the relationship with the surrounding tissues can be found.
If abnormal condition is found during the examination of laryngeal lesions, a part of tissue can be taken out through laryngoscope to do pathology to determine the specific pathological results, and standardized treatment can be carried out under the guidance of clinicians.
