How to read the H. pylori report card

For the H. pylori test report card, the patient is mainly looking at the conclusion made by the doctor. For example, the H. pylori test commonly done in the clinic is the carbon 13 or carbon 14 breath test, which will indicate the H. pylori test value, and will be followed by the normal reference range. If the H. pylori value exceeds the normal reference range, it will indicate a positive result, indicating the presence of H. pylori infection. If the test value is less than the normal reference range, the result is negative, indicating that there is no H. pylori infection in the body. If the test is done by drawing venous blood for H. pylori antibodies, it will also indicate a positive or negative result. Regardless of the test report, it is recommended that the patient see a gastroenterologist after receiving the test report and be treated with medication as appropriate under the guidance of the gastroenterologist.
