Variant asthma, also known as cough variant asthma, usually has cough as the only or main symptom. Cough variant asthma should be treated according to the principles and protocols of asthma treatment: 1) search for allergens and remove them; 2) use of bronchodilator drugs, such as aminophylline, β2 agonists, M-blockers; 3) core treatment, i.e. anti-inflammatory treatment, applying glucocorticoids to reduce the inflammatory response of the airways; 4) prevention of infection, and active anti-infection treatment if combined with infection.
