Don’t let asthma stay with you for life

Asthma is a common respiratory disease. There are 160 million people suffering from asthma worldwide, and its morbidity and mortality are increasing. If asthma is not well controlled, it can seriously affect the quality of life of patients and their families. Proper understanding of asthma 1, common allergens are the following categories: general substances such as airborne dust, dust mites, pollen, carpets, animal hair, clothing fibers, etc.; irritants such as cigarettes, spray; food such as shrimp, crab; dairy foods such as cheese, cheese, milk, etc. 2.Infection: Upper respiratory tract infections, bronchitis and colds are common triggers of asthma, and most of these diseases are caused by viruses. 3.Air pollution: There are many different kinds of pollutants in the air, such as sulfur dioxide emitted from factories, which may induce asthma. 4. Climate change: Whenever there is a drastic change in weather or a change of season, for example, between summer and autumn, or from winter to spring, the change in temperature and humidity in the air can cause a sensitive reaction in the respiratory tract and trigger asthma. Is there a link between allergic rhinitis and asthma? Allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma are very closely related: 1. In essence, they are both allergic diseases with the same pathogenesis, but the target organs are different. The incidence of bronchial asthma is significantly higher in patients with allergic rhinitis than in patients without allergic rhinitis after several years; 3. Unsatisfactory control of allergic rhinitis can aggravate asthma through the nasal-bronchial reflex, which is also one of the common causes of refractory asthma. Therefore, patients with allergic rhinitis combined with bronchial asthma should be treated with allergic rhinitis at the same time as asthma in order to better control asthma. Those with allergic rhinitis only should also actively control rhinitis to prevent downward progression to asthma. When should a patient with a chronic cough be considered for screening for asthma? There is a type of asthma called cough variant asthma, which is characterized by symptoms of coughing without wheezing. If a patient with a long-standing cough does not respond well to ordinary anti-inflammatory treatment; or if recurrent attacks are not easily cured; or if the cough is distinctly seasonal; or if general stimuli, such as cold wind or fumes, can induce coughing, you cannot rule out the development of cough variant asthma if you have the above conditions. First, exercise to strengthen your body and prevent colds. Exercise gradually and consistently, such as cold-washing exercises and swimming activities in summer. Second, pay attention to avoid contact with allergens. Try to avoid contact with all suspected or known allergens; avoid using all suspected or known allergic items. Third, the most important thing is to learn self-management of asthma. Learn more about asthma prevention and control, work closely with your doctor, perform long-term self-monitoring, use anti-inflammatory drugs and bronchodilators scientifically, and adjust the drugs used to treat asthma according to your condition, go to the emergency room or hospitalization if necessary, and follow up with your physician regularly; only then is it possible to achieve complete control. Fourth, high-risk groups should do a good job of asthma prevention because patients with a family history of asthma or a personal history of allergies such as infantile eczema, urticaria, allergic rhinitis, etc. have a higher prevalence of bronchial asthma than the general group. This group should be treated as early as possible for the primary disease to prevent the occurrence of asthma as much as possible. Fifthly, the external acupressure point treatment carried out by our hospital for many years has also received satisfactory results in the treatment and prevention of asthma. The treatment of respiratory diseases by acupuncture point compresses carried out in our hospital since the early 1980s is one of the most representative methods of external treatment in Chinese medicine. The acupuncture point application treatment method is a kind of external treatment method that applies drugs to the acupuncture points on the patient’s body and treats the disease through the action of drugs on acupuncture points and meridians. This is an important treatment method for bronchial asthma, and the acupuncture point is often chosen to treat the back acupuncture point, which is the part where the essence of the five internal organs and six internal organs are infused on the body surface and is the key point for regulating the function of the internal organs. The external treatment of internal diseases, in addition to the role of the drug itself, mainly through the conduction of the meridians to play the role of adjusting the internal organs of yin and yang to facilitate the flow of Qi and blood, to support the positive and eliminate evil. The combination of acupressure and internal treatment during the onset of the disease can promote the relief of symptoms and control the condition.
