Is intestinal polyp pathology grade 1 to 2 serious?

Yamada staging is a Japanese staging method for intestinal polyps, which is recognized primarily by the angle between the base of the colon polyp, the location of the bulge, and the mucosa of the large intestine. Yamada typing is generally categorized into four types: Type 1 is flat, refers to the absence of the tip into the hemisphere, polyp bulge and normal mucosa between the angle greater than 90 degrees, the polyp surface color and mucosa is basically similar; Type 2 is a sub-tipped hemispherical polyp, where the angle between the polyp bulge and the mucosa is less than 90 degrees, and the mucosal surface is slightly reddish, sometimes with depressions; Types 3 and 4 are subtipped, while the tip of type 4 polyps is a bit longer. The larger the type, the greater the likelihood of malignancy. Colon polyp pathology type 1 to 2 are mostly benign lesions, usually not very serious, can be cured by surgical resection, do not need to worry too much. However, if the treatment is not carried out in time, the volume of intestinal polyps will get bigger and bigger, and the risk of cancer will increase, which is not conducive to good health and even life-threatening. All types of colon polyps need to be pathologically examined after surgery to try to detect malignant lesions.
