It belongs to the lung meridian of the hand Taiyin and is located on the outer side of the hand, at the midpoint of the radial side of the 1st metacarpal bone at the location of the red-white meatus, which has the efficacy of clearing the lungs and draining heat as well as having the effect of favoring the pharynx and relieving pain.
It can be used to treat cough, hemoptysis, dry throat, sore throat, loss of voice and other diseases. Clinically, it is often used to treat dizziness, tachycardia, insomnia, hyperhidrosis, and pediatric chancre (a chronic disease of children, manifesting as emaciation, abnormal eating and drinking, abdominal distension, and thinning and yellowing of hair).
It is also used in conjunction with the Da Shi point, He Gu point, and Le Jiou point for coughs, the Shak Ze point, Tai Yuan point, and Sanyin Jiao point for hemoptysis, and the Feng Chi point, Shao Hai point, Shao Chong point, and Tai Bai point for colds and fevers. For loss of voice, it is combined with the Gu point, the Mianzhi point, the Rangu point, and the Ren Yu point.
