Is hemoglobin 86 anemia serious?

Hemoglobin 86 means that the concentration of hemoglobin in peripheral blood is 86g/L. Regarding the hemoglobin concentration itself, 86g/L belongs to moderate anemia, because those between 60-90g/L belong to moderate anemia. Whether hemoglobin 86 is serious or not is closely related to the cause of hemoglobin 86. For example, in a patient with simple iron deficiency anemia, hemoglobin 86g/L is not very serious, and the patient can be cured in about 1 month after iron supplementation treatment. Also, if the hemoglobin 86g/L is caused by megaloblastic anemia, the patient can be cured without serious consequences after treatment with folic acid and vitamin B12. However, if the hemoglobin 86g/L is caused by acute leukemia, the condition is very serious. Without timely treatment, the anemia will further aggravate and the patient will easily develop symptoms such as infection and bleeding, which may even lead to early death of the patient. Therefore, the severity of anemia is very closely related to the primary disease.
