Poor filling of the gallbladder indicates possible atrophy of the gallbladder and decreased contractile and diastolic function of the gallbladder, which is mostly considered to be caused by inflammation of the gallbladder. The causes of cholecystitis include bile duct stones and lesions of the gallbladder itself, including polyps and carcinomas, which need to be clinically determined by combining all aspects of examination. If bile duct stones are considered to be the cause, this gallbladder lesion can cause gallbladder atrophy and requires surgical treatment. Gallbladder polyps also have the possibility of benign and malignant polyps. If the gallbladder is considered to have a tendency of polyp malignancy or is determined to be gallbladder cancer, early surgical treatment is required. In case of simple cholesterol crystals and poor gallbladder filling due to physiological causes of the gallbladder, they only need to be observed and do not require special treatment. Because the human gallbladder is an organ for storing and concentrating bile, contraction and diastole have a lot to do with external diet, and gallbladder filling will show poorly after eating high-fat foods and full meals, this physiological cause needs to be recognized to prevent cognitive errors.
