The most common clinical cause of dryness during intercourse is due to decreased ovarian function and decreased estrogen levels, resulting in decreased cervical and vaginal secretions. This condition is often seen in perimenopausal women, or postmenopausal women, or women with premature ovarian failure. In addition, dryness during intercourse is often caused by inflammation of the vagina, so for patients with dryness during intercourse, the following tests are recommended: 1. A blood test for sex hormone 6 on the day after menstruation to find out if ovarian function and estradiol are normal; 2. A routine white belt test to rule out inflammation of the vagina and to find out if there are local abnormalities of the cervix.
