Skin color in albinos

People with albinism may have normal skin color, white or pink. Albinism can be divided into non-syndromic albinism and syndromic albinism. 1. Non-syndromic albinism: It can be divided into oculocutaneous albinism and ocular albinism. Oculocutaneous albinism is mainly characterized by eye and skin symptoms, in which the skin is white or pink, and due to the lack of pigmentation, the hair and eyebrows are also white. In oculocutaneous albinism, there are no skin symptoms and the skin color is normal, but only eye problems such as strabismus may occur. 2. Syndromic albinism: This type of albinism has both ocular and cutaneous symptoms, and the color of the skin is white or pink. It is also associated with complications in other organs and systems, such as pulmonary fibrosis and myocarditis. If albinism is suspected or diagnosed, it is recommended to seek early and standardized treatment to reduce the adverse effects of the disease.
