Frontal sinus hypoplasia is a congenital dysplasia of the frontal sinuses, which means that the frontal sinuses are less developed than normal.
Frontal sinus hypoplasia is caused by congenital dysplasia. The frontal sinuses are located in the sinus cavities between the orbits and the sieve sinuses at the anterior and superior ends, as well as the inner and outer bony plates at the posterior end of the frontal arch, and gradually form into frontal sinuses in the anterior end of the sieve sinus funnel and the superior frontal fossa at the beginning of the birth.
Whether or not a patient with frontal sinus hypoplasia needs further treatment depends on the clinical symptoms. If there are no symptoms, the patient can be observed for the time being. If it is accompanied by frontal sinusitis, medication or surgical treatment is needed, and endoscopic surgery to enlarge the opening of the frontal sinus is an option.
Patients should exercise more, improve body resistance, rest more, eat more nutritious food, prevent colds and eat more easy-to-digest food. The medication should be administered according to the doctor’s instructions, and any uncomfortable symptoms should be treated immediately in order to avoid infection.
