Acute altitude sickness may have sequelae such as memory impairment; chronic altitude sickness may have sequelae such as plateau heart disease.
The prognosis of acute highland disease is generally good after active diagnosis and treatment. Some patients with acute plateau cerebral edema may have sequelae such as memory disorder and speech disorder. Meanwhile, plateau pulmonary edema is more likely to recur when entering the same plateau environment again after recovery.
Chronic plateau disease usually develops after transferring to the plains, and its plateau disease mostly recovers in about 1~2 months. But plateau blood pressure changes and plateau heart disease with right ventricular hypertrophy and other patients, generally not easy to recover, become sequelae. In addition, chronic plateau reaction can also appear heart, brain function decline, limb disorder and other sequelae.
If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time for diagnosis and treatment.
