TCT is a cytologic examination of the reproductive tract. Normal TCT biopsy results generally indicate that the chances of getting intermediate or advanced cancer from biopsy are not great, but if the examination is not timely enough or there is an error in the examination specimen, there is also a certain chance of cancer.
TCT examination is mainly used for cervical cancer and precancerous lesions screening, can observe whether the cervical cells are degenerated, in general, the examination results are normal indicating that the local tissue has not been pathologically altered, but the TCT examination is only for the local cells, and can only be responsible for the current specimen, if the specimen sampling error occurs or the sampling of the specimen is not timely, there may be biopsies of the chances of cancer.
To determine whether cancer is present, local tissue biopsy for pathological examination is the gold standard, and TCT examination can only be used as a means of screening, and does not have the authority to confirm the diagnosis.
