Is it normal to have irregular menstruation while breastfeeding?

Irregular menstruation during breastfeeding is a normal phenomenon, and the time it takes to resume menstruation after childbirth varies from person to person, with some recovering early and some mothers only resuming menstruation when their baby is about one year old. We all know that breastfeeding mothers take longer to recover their periods, and many of them do not wait for the arrival of their “period” during the whole breastfeeding period, while some women have their periods, but they are irregular, sometimes arriving early and sometimes receding late. These abnormalities often make mothers very distressed, fearing that their body is abnormal, affecting the baby’s feeding work. In fact, irregular menstruation during breastfeeding is normal. Some women resume normal ovulation after about 12 weeks of breastfeeding, while mothers who are not breastfeeding may get their periods in about six weeks. However, studies show that most breastfeeding mothers generally do not fully resume ovulation until about 18 weeks after delivery, so there is no need to make a fuss about irregular periods during breastfeeding, as this is a normal phenomenon. Irregular menstruation during breastfeeding is very common in life, it is not a manifestation of physical abnormalities, but usually a normal physiological reaction, so there is no need to be overly worried and nervous, pay attention to a good daily diet, good habits, etc., which will be of great benefit to breastfeeding.
