Can food grade alcohol at 75 degrees sterilize

Edible grade alcohol is not the same as medical alcohol used in hospitals, but if they are both 75 degrees, they are highly effective in killing viruses and bacteria. Therefore, food grade 75% alcohol is equally capable of killing bacteria and viruses. Therefore, it acts in the same way as medical grade alcohol, except that food grade alcohol may have esters, or flavorings, in addition to ethanol. The simultaneous presence of these ingredients does not diminish the efficacy of cooking alcohol against viruses and bacteria. Therefore, it is believed that the use of 75% cooking alcohol has the same killing effect on viruses and bacteria as 75% medical alcohol. Source: Dr. Yurai
