Pre-operative considerations for adenoids and tonsils in children

Adenoid tonsil surgery is one of the most common procedures performed in pediatric otolaryngology. The diagnosis of tonsillar or adenoid hypertrophy is confirmed in the outpatient clinic before the surgery, and then you can register for a bed reservation and book an admission without symptoms of cold, fever and cough within two weeks before the surgery. Pre-operative examination results are normal and there are no contraindications to general anesthesia surgery before surgery can be scheduled. If there is any abnormality in the preoperative examination, the relevant department should be consulted, and if it is not suitable for surgery, the patient should be discharged from the hospital first and wait for the examination results to return to normal before the surgery can be scheduled. Before the surgery, parents should communicate with the doctor in charge and then determine whether to do adenoids alone or adenoids and tonsils at the same time.
