How long can you live after kidney cancer removal

Kidney cancer is a disease caused by a malignant tumor on the kidney. His current treatment for kidney cancer is still mainly based on surgery. However, it is difficult to have a unified standard answer on how long kidney cancer can live after resection, ranging from a few months to decades. It depends on various factors such as the time of kidney cancer surgery, the type of kidney cancer, whether to adhere to medication treatment, patient’s physical quality and desire to live. If kidney cancer is detected early and surgically removed in time, the survival time after surgery is relatively longer, and most patients can even reach more than 5 years. Among kidney cancers with higher malignancy, renal collecting duct cancer and type II papillary cell carcinoma are the most common types. In some patients, after surgery, they do not continue to use drugs due to financial or personal reasons, then the survival period after surgery may only be about 1-3 months. The physical quality of the patient is also an important factor in determining how long the patient can live after surgery. If the patient’s physical quality is relatively poor and he/she is not able to further implement radiotherapy and chemotherapy after surgery, the survival time after surgery will be relatively shorter than that of people with good physical quality. The patient’s desire to live is actually the most important thing. Patients with a good attitude will have a longer survival time, while those without a desire to live will have a shorter survival time.
