Insomnia may be caused by cerebrovascular disease, but is less common. There are many clinical causes of insomnia, mostly considered to be due to psychological or physiological factors. When insomnia occurs, it is more often caused by psychosocial factors, such as stressful life and unpleasant events at work, which can easily cause depression, tension, anxiety and other states, and can manifest as insomnia. In addition, physiological factors can also lead to insomnia, such as hunger before bedtime, too full before bedtime, too tired, too excited, etc. The insomnia caused by pathological factors is mostly seen in mental diseases, and the insomnia caused by cerebrovascular diseases is less common, such as cerebral blood supply deficiency will make patients often feel dizzy, headache and weakness, which will lead to poor sleep quality and cannot ensure sufficient sleep time, and then it will cause insomnia. Insomnia is not a specific symptom of cerebrovascular disease, and it is not possible to assume the existence of cerebrovascular disease just because of insomnia. If cerebrovascular disease is suspected, CT and MRI examinations can be performed in neurology, and CTA or MRA can be done if necessary.
