In the case of children with gaps in the middle of the large incisors during tooth replacement, it is possible for them to grow back, but in the case of children with significant gaps in the middle of the large teeth after the eruption of the cuspids, there is no possibility for them to continue to grow back and only medical intervention is possible. This gap is one of the more common cases in clinical practice. The first thing to do is to check the size of the gap and, if necessary, to take a corresponding imaging of the maxilla to see if there is an overgrown tooth in the corresponding area, and if there is an overgrown tooth, the overgrown tooth should first be extracted and then the gap should be closed. Generally, for gaps <3mm, resin filling can be considered, which means that one layer of resin is applied to each side of the gap near the middle, which is relatively effective, non-invasive and less expensive. However, if the gap is large, the tooth must be restored with a veneer or crown, which will cause some damage to the tooth. Of course, orthodontic restoration is also possible, but it takes longer and costs more.
