Ground-glass nodules on the lungs do not show obvious manifestations in most patients, but if the ground-glass shadow on the lungs belongs to lung cancer, it will cause shoulder pain when extrapulmonary invasion of lung cancer occurs. Ground glass nodule is an imaging concept, which refers to a round or round-like lesion with translucent glass density shadow on chest CT image, usually <3 cm in diameter, and can be single or multiple. There are many causes of ground-glass nodules in the lungs, such as inflammation, tuberculosis, early stage of lung cancer, and lung metastases. Most of the ground glass nodules are benign nodules, and patients usually have no obvious symptoms, often found during physical examination, and rarely cause shoulder pain symptoms. However, if distant metastasis of lung cancer occurs and invades the 1st and 2nd ribs and brachial plexus nerves, it will cause pain in upper limbs and shoulders. It is recommended to consult the doctor in time to clarify the cause of the disease and treat it in time. If shoulder pain occurs at the same time, it should be taken more seriously.
