Arterial tortuosity is not a name of a disease; it is a medical description in clinical imaging examinations such as orthopantomographs of the chest, vascular ultrasound, and 4-dimensional ultrasound. Commonly, there are aortic tortuosity, temporal artery tortuosity, arterial duct tortuosity, etc. Aortic tortuosity is a description in radiological X-ray examination, which is a change of vascular morphology due to arterial vascular sclerosis. It is mainly found in orthopantomographs of the chest with prominent aortic nodes and significant curvature of the descending aorta, which is not a straight descending manifestation. Temporal artery tortuosity is commonly seen in diseases such as rheumatic myalgia and giant cell arteritis, mainly manifesting as temporal artery changing like a string of beads, tortuous and angry. Arterial duct tortuosity, the arterial duct is the vascular channel connecting the aorta and the main pulmonary artery in the fetus, the arterial duct is too long to produce a tortuous state, which may affect the blood circulation of the fetus and have certain effects on fetal development, and needs to be reviewed regularly.
