Symptoms and treatment of gallbladder infection gallstones

Cholecystitis and gallstones are common diseases in gastroenterology clinics and also in general surgery clinics. Gallbladder is located in the right upper abdomen, and cholecystitis and gallstones can manifest as pain in the right upper abdomen, mostly after meals, especially after eating fatty food, often accompanied by dyspepsia-like symptoms. If the stone is embedded in the neck of the gallbladder, it can lead to acute cholecystitis, when the pain increases, and some patients may become jaundiced, requiring fasting, rehydration and antibiotics, and some patients even need surgery to remove the gallbladder to relieve the pain. However, most patients have no obvious symptoms, but only functional indigestion such as belching and bloating after meals. They should make dietary adjustments, quit smoking and drinking, be calm, chew slowly, and avoid stimulating diet and greasy and indigestible food. For some patients with gallstones, especially cholesterol stones, lithotripsy treatment with ursodeoxycholic acid can be tried. For recurrent cholecystitis or filled gallbladder stones, surgical treatment is recommended.
