The patient, a 65-year-old female, was admitted to our hospital with osteoarthritis for total knee replacement due to pain in the knee joint and poor results of conservative treatment with oral pain medication, which affected her normal life and prevented her from walking normally. According to Anhui Province’s new rural cooperative medical policy, patients who participate in rural cooperative medical treatment within the province are reimbursed 70% of the cost of such diseases in provincial hospitals. The total knee replacement uses an imported joint prosthesis, and the hospital fee + surgery cost is about 50,000 yuan, while the NNCC reimburses 35,000 yuan and the patient pays 15,000 yuan out of pocket, i.e. the patient only needs to bring 15,000 yuan, and the rest of the cost is reimbursed by the hospital.
