Psoriasis is commonly known as “psoriasis”. In Chinese medicine, it is named “dry ringworm”, “white ringworm”, “white shell sore”, “snake lice”, “wind ringworm”, “white H”, “pine skin ringworm” and so on. Psoriasis is clinically divided into four major categories: the common type: about 94.6% of psoriasis; the pustular type: about 0.77% of psoriasis; the arthritic type: about 3.3% of psoriasis; and the erythrodermic type: about 0.98% of psoriasis. According to the different stages of disease development, the lesion performance has its own focus, generally divided into stages of common psoriasis: progressive stage, stationary stage and receding stage. Chinese medicine focuses on the whole, and is good at looking at the outside and knowing the inside, and is good at researching and adjusting the inner connection between internal organs, qi and blood, and meridians, and considering and treating them as a whole. Because TCM is a macroscopic, holistic and dynamic study and observation of the human body and diseases, it not only believes that human beings are products of nature, but also believes that “the human body is a small world”, and that the invasion of the human body by external evil is mostly the result of the fight between positive and evil, and its pathogenesis is related to both internal and external causes, but more emphasis is placed on internal factors. TCM also believes that the same kind of evil can manifest itself as different symptoms when it invades people with different constitutions, so that different treatments and prescriptions can be formulated; “different treatments for the same disease” and “same treatment for different diseases”. It is more capable of “tailoring” and formulating individualized treatment plans according to the specific conditions of patients, so as to achieve the shortest course of treatment and the best curative effect. Clinically, common psoriasis is usually identified as: 1) blood-heat; 2) blood-dryness; 3) blood-stasis; 4) damp-heat; and 5) dysregulation of the flush and kidneys, etc. Treatment methods are given to cool the blood, activate the blood, clear heat and detoxify; nourish yin, nourish the blood, activate the blood and moisten the skin; activate blood stasis, remove dampness and detoxify; strengthen the spleen and remove dampness, clear heat and cool the blood; regulate the flush and nourish the liver and kidneys. Erythrodermic psoriasis is usually identified as 1. toxic-heat-into-camp type; 2. yin-deficiency and blood-stasis type; respectively, the treatment is to cool the blood and detoxify it, invigorate the blood and remove dampness; invigorate the blood and nourish yin, and clear the remaining toxins. Pustular psoriasis is identified as: 1. pus toxicity type; 2. yin deficiency and blood heat type; 3. dampness and toxicity accumulation type. Treatment should be applied to clear heat and remove dampness, cool blood and detoxify; nourish Yin and clear heat, remove dampness and detoxify; strengthen spleen and benefit Qi, remove dampness and detoxify, respectively. Psoriasis of arthritic type is identified as: 1) heat and toxin incandescence type; 2) cold and damp paralysis type; 3) liver and kidney deficiency type. The treatment is based on detoxifying and cooling the blood and activating the meridians; dispelling wind and cold, removing dampness and relieving pain; tonifying the liver and kidney and activating the meridians, respectively. In addition to the evidence-based treatment of internal medicine, Chinese medicine fumigation and medicinal bath also have good efficacy in the treatment of psoriasis. This therapy is guided by the theory of Chinese medicine, and herbs are selected and processed into bathing liquid, which is used to fumigate and bathe the exterior of the body to achieve the purpose of health care and disease treatment. After the bath, the drug in the bath can be absorbed through the skin, acupuncture points, etc., and directly into the meridians and blood vessels, and then distributed throughout the body, and then play its pharmacological work, so that the body’s local or systemic blood drug concentration increased, thus producing therapeutic effects. Medicine and can make the drug permeable to use. Different medicinal baths can produce different therapeutic effects: antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, activating blood circulation and resolving blood stasis, sweating and relieving fever, dispelling decay and regenerating muscle, beauty and health, etc. Chinese medicine has accumulated decades of experience in the treatment of psoriasis, and has a set of rules for the treatment of various types of psoriasis. The treatment methods are colorful, such as the identification and treatment, or the use of drugs for different diseases, or the treatment of compound prescriptions, or the treatment of single prescriptions, or the internal use, or the external use, etc. The prescriptions used are very rich, the routes of administration are flexible, the toxic side effects are small, the curative effect is more consolidated, and the long-term effect is good. After the efforts of the majority of medical workers, will certainly make “psoriasis” no longer “psoriasis”.
