The treatment of hepatobiliary stones is a complex process, with many complications, poor results and high recurrence rates, which have long plagued patients and physicians, and many patients have had to undergo multiple open surgeries. However, our hepatobiliary physicians have never given up the pursuit of new treatment methods. Recently, our second biliary department, together with urology, interventional department and operating room, successfully performed percutaneous intrahepatic bile duct lithotripsy and laser lithotripsy for a 60-year-old patient who had undergone three open surgeries. The patient was discharged from the hospital after avoiding the pain of reoperation. The procedure is minimally invasive, less painful, complete stone extraction, fast recovery and low cost compared with traditional surgery, which brings good news to patients with hepatobiliary stones and adds a new method to the treatment of hepatobiliary stone disease.
