Old stork is not generally used in the treatment of facial paralysis, specific need to follow the doctor’s instructions for use.
Facial paralysis is characterized by incomplete eyelid closure and tilting of the corner of the mouth to one side, which is mainly caused by the deficiency of positive qi and the entry of wind-heat or wind-cold factors. Old stork herb is pungent, bitter and flat in nature. It belongs to liver, kidney and spleen meridians. It has the efficacy of dispelling wind-dampness, stopping diarrhea and dysentery, and opening the meridians. It is used for rheumatism paralysis (joint pain caused by wind, cold and dampness), muscle and bone pain, numbness of the skin, dysentery, diarrhea, sores (caused by poisonous evils, resulting in stagnation of qi and blood into the skin diseases). Therefore, the old stork is not generally used for the treatment of facial paralysis.
The contraindications and adverse reactions of Lao Zhen Cao are not clear. It should be used under the guidance of a doctor to avoid aggravating the condition.
