How should varicose veins in the lower extremities be treated well

Varicose veins of the lower extremities, commonly known as “old rotten feet”, are a common and frequent disease in vascular surgery. Insufficiency of the saphenous vein valve causing blood reflux is the main pathophysiological basis of varicose veins in the lower extremities, from which a series of clinical symptoms and signs develop. Therefore, in order to successfully treat varicose veins in the lower extremities, eliminating the reflux in the saphenous vein is the key to the problem. Treatment methods are divided into non-surgical and surgical treatments. Non-surgical treatment is used for mild cases, and wearing elastic stockings to improve venous blood circulation in the lower extremities can stop further development of the disease, but cannot fundamentally cure the disease; sclerotherapy can also be used for varicose veins, and injection of sclerosing agent can be used to block blood vessels and prevent reflux, but only for small, limited lesions or as an adjunct to surgery, while having a high recurrence rate, and if the sclerosing agent enters deep veins or infiltrates into the surrounding tissue, sclerotherapy can be used to treat varicose veins. If the sclerosing agent enters the deep veins or infiltrates into the surrounding tissues, it will cause deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary infarction, local tissue necrosis, inflammation and many other complications. The most fundamental treatment method is surgery, the traditional surgical treatment requires many incisions and vascular stripping, which is traumatic, long hospitalization period and leaves many unsightly scars on the lower limbs, making many patients fearful of surgical treatment. In order to meet people’s pursuit of quality of life, clinical medicine diagnosis and treatment methods are increasingly non-invasive and minimally invasive. The principle of EVLT is to treat varicose veins by inserting a fiber into the saphenous vein and using the appropriate wavelength of laser light to precisely destroy and cut the inner wall of the saphenous vein with the instantaneous heat energy of the laser, causing fibrosis and occlusion of the intima of the vessel.     Compared with traditional surgical methods, the advantages are: 1. the surgical incision is significantly reduced compared with traditional ones, while the incision is less than 1 cm, and the scar is small after healing, which does not affect the aesthetics of the leg, and can achieve zero incision for patients with stage C1 to C3; 2. the incision does not require suturing, stitch removal, and antibiotics; 3. there is almost no bleeding during the operation; 4. the operation is simple and quick, and the unilateral limb is generally within 30-40 minutes; 5. 5.Post-operative limb pain is significantly reduced; you can get out of bed on the same day; 6.Hospitalization time is only 2 days; 7.The combination of minimally invasive surgical treatment for individual differences greatly reduces the long-term recurrence rate. EVLT technology has been widely used in China since Dr. RobertMin took the lead in clinical application in 1999, and after 10 years, it has become a safe, effective, minimally invasive, aesthetic and easy-to-use treatment method.
