What’s wrong with a child with a high fever and no other symptoms?

If children only have high fever without any other symptoms, the possible causes may include infantile emergency rash, sepsis, summer fever, and so on.
1. Childhood emergency rash: there is often no obvious cause for the sudden high fever, often at 39 ~ 40 ℃, fever can be no other symptoms, or some children may have a slightly poor appetite. Generally, after 3-5 days of fever, the body temperature drops sharply, and after the fever subsides, spots of different sizes may appear on the body, which is called “fever and rash” by doctors, and it is the unique performance of infantile emergency rash.
2. Septicemia: Septicemia in children is a syndrome of systemic inflammatory reaction caused by microorganisms entering the blood. Sometimes there are no other symptoms except fever, and the early signs of sepsis in children are difficult to detect, such as a mild increase in heart rate.
3. Summer fever: the common symptom is the slow onset of the disease during the summer season. The fever is persistently high, with a temperature between 38 and 40℃, and can last for 1 to 3 months. The higher the temperature, the higher the fever, and the cooler the climate, the temperature decreases. It is most common in infants and young children under 3 years old.
If a child has a high fever without any symptoms, there may be other causes, so it is recommended to visit a pediatrician in time to have the specific cause determined by a specialist.
