Appendicitis is not recommended to be treated with acupuncture. Appendicitis is an inflammatory disease, mainly pain in the area of the appendix, sometimes very intense in nature, especially when there are fecal stones in the appendix cavity and swelling of the appendix cavity is very obvious. After the diagnosis of appendicitis is clear, surgical treatment or antibiotic infusion to fight the infection is required. If the inflammation of the appendix is mild and the nature of the pain is mild, conservative treatment with antibiotics can be considered, but after conservative treatment, the appendix may progress to chronic appendicitis and may flare up again, requiring surgery again. If the inflammation of the appendix is severe, such as gangrenous appendicitis, suppurative appendicitis, or even perforated appendicitis, surgical treatment is required to remove the appendix. Nowadays, it is usually thought to be a minimally invasive surgery, that is, a laparoscopic appendectomy.
