After circumcision, it is recommended to wait at least four weeks before engaging in sexual intercourse. If there has been an infection or splitting during the healing process, it is advisable to extend the time as appropriate, following medical advice. After circumcision, the inner and outer plates of the foreskin need to be sutured together, and it takes about 10-14 days for the wound to grow initially, and at least four weeks for it to grow firmly. If you have sex too soon, the incision may be completely torn or ripped. In clinical practice, we have seen patients who had sex two weeks after circumcision have a complete tear of the foreskin and were re-admitted to the hospital for re-suturing and healing. After the surgery, try to make the wound completely solid before having sex. Premature sexual intercourse is not only likely to tear the wound, but also to cause local infection or signs of septicemia.
