The main symptoms of UTI in women are frequent urination, urgency and painful urination, collectively referred to as urinary symptoms. Depending on the location of the infection, UTIs can be divided into upper and lower urinary tract infections. In addition to urinary tract infections, patients with upper urinary tract infections may also exhibit symptoms such as high fever, chills, headache, general malaise, nausea, back pain, and lower abdominal pain. Patients with lower urinary tract infections mainly present with urinary sensation symptoms. Some patients may present with hematuria, which may be manifested as hematuria in the naked eye, blood clots or microscopic hematuria. Oral or intravenous antibiotics are the main treatment for UTI, and most patients have a good prognosis, but some patients are prone to recurrent episodes.
