Acute myeloid leukemia type M5, i.e., acute monocytic leukemia, can be treated with general treatment such as component blood transfusion and anti-leukemia treatment such as chemotherapy, etc. 1. General treatment (1) Emergency treatment of hyperleukinemia: if the patient’s blood leukocytes are >100×10^9/L, a blood cell separator should be carried out in time to remove the excessive leukocyte load, etc., or hydroxyurea should be used for cytotoxic treatment. (2) Prevention and treatment of infection: patients should stay in laminar flow ward or sterilized isolation ward to prevent and treat infection. In case of concurrent infection, anti-infective drugs such as ceftazidime can be used for treatment as appropriate. (3) Maintain nutrition: patients should eat more nutritious and easily digestible food. (4) Blood transfusion therapy: when combined with severe anemia or thrombocytopenia, blood products such as single platelets and suspended red blood cells can be transfused. 2. Anti-leukemia treatment (1) Induction of remission treatment: chemotherapy is often used, such as the combination of desmethoxylated erythromycin and cytarabine regimen. (2) Post-remission treatment: including consolidation chemotherapy and intrathecal prophylaxis, the drugs include cytarabine and methotrexate. (3) Other treatments: hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is available for some patients. It is recommended to consult a doctor in time and under the guidance of a physician.
