Does removal of one side of the fallopian tube affect fertility?

Removal of one side of the fallopian tube can affect fertility. The fallopian tubes are located in the female pelvis, with the left and right fallopian tubes on each side of the uterus. They are an important part of the female reproductive system and have the physiological functions of transporting eggs, sperm and fertilized eggs, providing sperm storage, energy, acrosome reaction and fertilization sites. Generally, women ovulate once on the left and once on the right side of the fallopian tubes, and they have a chance to conceive once a month. When a woman has one of her fallopian tubes removed due to some disease, the function of the tubes will be affected and the chance of pregnancy will be significantly reduced. If there is more leakage after the surgery, the other fallopian tube may become blocked, making it even less likely to conceive. If the other fallopian tube is open, further tests should be done to rule out any combined pathological factors causing infertility and to dynamically observe follicular development, ovulation status and endometrial thickness for any abnormalities. Therefore, after removal of one fallopian tube, women should go to the hospital one month after discharge or after menstruation to check whether the other tube is open. After excluding other pathological factors, she should also relax, pay attention to rest and strengthen nutrition in her daily life in order to improve the success rate of conception.
