Treatment of tubular adenoma of the colon

Adenomas of the colon are broadly defined as raised lesions on the mucosal surface of the colon that protrude into the intestinal lumen, including adenomas (among which are villous adenomas), other types of polyps in children, inflammatory polyps and polyposis. Pathologically, their content varies from benign tumors to the result of inflammatory hyperplasia. Depending on the nature of the colorectal adenoma, one should opt for colonoscopic resection, surgical treatment options or conservative treatment. If the adenoma base cannot be excluded from those with malignant changes, it is recommended to do local excision by laparoscopy, and then according to the intraoperative pathology, if complete excision can be achieved and the pathology reports that the adenoma is not malignant, local excision is sufficient and no further treatment is needed.
