Foreign body sensation in the throat may be related to chronic simple pharyngitis, chronic allergic pharyngitis and reflux pharyngitis. General treatment, medication and surgery should be chosen according to the cause and characteristics of the disease. Commonly used medications include pharyngitis tablets, loratadine tablets, omeprazole and mosapride dispersible tablets.
1. Chronic simple pharyngitis: after repeated episodes of acute pharyngitis and stimulation of adverse physical and chemical factors, lymphoid follicular hyperplasia in the pharynx can be triggered to cause foreign body sensation in the throat. Compound borax solution can be applied to gargle; take Jianmin throat tablets, Dumifen tablets and Yinhuang tablets to alleviate the symptoms; orally clear the throat and throat particles, pharyngitis tablets and other proprietary Chinese medicines.
2. Chronic allergic pharyngitis: after contacting allergens, allergic reaction occurs in allergic patients, resulting in edema of the mucous membrane of the throat and foreign body sensation in the throat. It is necessary to effectively avoid allergen contact, oral antihistamine such as loratadine, prednisone and other glucocorticoids. It can also be treated with localized nebulized inhalation of budesonide suspension.
3. Reflux pharyngolaryngitis: the reflux of gastric contents leads to inflammatory swelling of the throat mucosa, often with the manifestation of foreign body sensation in the throat. Oral omeprazole and other acid-suppressing drugs, mosapride dispersible tablets and other gastrointestinal stimulants are needed. A diet of small meals, light and soft food is adopted on a daily basis. If conservative treatment is ineffective, various types of fundoplication can be chosen for treatment.
When there is a foreign body sensation in the throat, it is necessary to actively consult a doctor for a systematic examination, and after a clear diagnosis, follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
