Female urinary catheterization nursing operations include informing the patient and obtaining consent, preparing oneself, positioning oneself, disinfecting the sheets, and catheterizing the urine. 1. Prepare the catheterization items, explain the purpose to the patient, and obtain cooperation, as well as ensure that the surrounding environment is airtight. 2. The catheterizer should wash his/her hands, wear a hat and mask. 3. Assist the patient in positioning, with the patient lying flat on the bed, removing the opposite trouser leg and covering it with a coverlet, and covering the proximal leg with a large towel. Ask the patient to lie on her back and bend her knees, spread both legs out to expose the vulva, and put the treatment towel under her buttocks. 4. Disinfect the sheet, first from the outside of the perineum to the inside, then from the urethral opening, from the inside to the outside, from top to bottom, and finally disinfect the urethral opening again. It is important to note that each cotton ball can only be used once during the whole process. 5. Catheterization, open the catheterization kit and check the integrity of the catheter, lubricate the tip of the catheter, separate the labia minora with the thumb and forefinger of the left hand, and then use tweezers to deliver the catheter to the urethral opening and slowly feed it in. After insertion of 4-6cm, when urine outflow is seen, the catheter is inserted inward for about 2cm, and the labia minora are loosened with the left hand to fix the catheter. If the patient has any discomfort, he/she needs to consult the doctor for examination and early treatment.
